Dendrobium
orchids are included in a large genus,
which has been heavily hybridized.
There are two main types of dendrobium
hybrids usually available. The Den-Phal
(Dendrobium phalaneopsis) type
is evergreen, and usually easier to
care for. The second type is the Dendrobium
nobile type, which is deciduous,
and will loose its leaves during its
dormant period. Dendrobium hybrids
are available in a wide-range of colors,
the most common being pinks and purples.
There is also a numerous, very diverse
range of Dendrobium species as well
for the more experienced grower.
